Thank you for using the child care room at LASC! We enjoy spending time with your children while you take the opportunity to maintain an active lifestyle. Listed below are some helpful tools that will make your child’s experience more enjoyable! Please contact me if you have any questions or concerns. My name is Karen Van De Moere.

Childcare Hours Are there any times during the day or during any special programs you wish childcare was open? If there is a demand, we want to be open so you have access to everything the club offers.
Staff Shirts We have ordered green and white tie dyed t-shirts for the child care staff. Staring early Feb, you’ll be able to quickly identify who’s working when you drop off & pick up your child.
Cold and Flu If your child has been sick, please be considerate of the staff and other children in the child care room, and keep your child home with you to recover for at least 24 hrs after a fever of 101.1 or an episode of vomiting.
Labels Please label your child’s bag, drink and snack prior to leaving him or her in the room. It becomes very difficult to keep kids from taking the wrong cup or snack when they aren’t labeled. We have masking tape in the room that you can use for labeling if you do not have your own labels.
Clothing and Shoes When your child wears rain or snow boots outside during inclimate weather, please pack dry shoes or slippers for him or her to wear during the time they spend in the child care room.
Emergency Procedure In the event of an emergency evacuation, if you choose to come get your child prior to exiting the building, please exit out of the child care emergency exit with the rest of the group and assist with helping other children exit if possible.
Snacks and Drinks Sometimes we have cups, plates, and utensils when they are donated, but please bring anything your child needs for his or her snack & drink.
Please pack a drink and snack for your child for each visit. Although they may not typically eat or drink during the time you are at the gym, once other children start eating or drinking very often the other children want something as well.
Although there is no prohibited snack list, we currently have several children with severe peanut allergies as well as many new crawlers, so if you don’t need to pack your child a snack including peanut butter or typical choking foods we’d appreciate your consideration.
Potty Time Please pack extra diapers & wipes, pull-ups or undies for your child. You may be called if your child needs a change or if he or she has an accident while you are working out.
Discipline Sometimes it is necessary to redirect a child to another activity or to separate 2 children away from each other. We talk with the child or redirect them when there are issues but you will be asked to remove the child for the day if his or her behavior compromises the safety of the other children in the room.
Toys from Home Please do not allow your child to bring toys from home other than a comfort item such as a blanket, teddy, binky, etc. Most of the time, it creates unnecessary stress and arguing among the kids in the room.
Care Instructions We always do what we can to make each child’s stay comfortable and fun. If you have a specific feeding time you want us to offer your child his or her snack at, or if you want us to check a diaper at a certain time please inform the childcare provider before you leave for your workout.
