Masters & Intro to Masters Swim Programs

Masters Swim Club    1 hour workouts currently held on Wednesdays at 6:30am and Fridays at 6:30pm.  $25 per month for Annual LASC mbrs. $45 per month for Temp/Non LASC mbrs.  $12.50/mo. for LRTC mbrs.

Intro to Masters  30 minute workouts currently held on Wednesdays at 6-6:30 am and Fridays at 6-6:30 pm.  $15/month for Lasc Members, $35/month for temp/non-members

This is a great program for those who would like to become more efficient swimmers but are not quite ready to try our Masters swim program yet.  This half hour class emphasizes developing your confidence, endurance and technique in all four competitive strokes.  Participants must be able to swim a lap continuously in basic freestyle to join the class.  This relaxed class offers you the perfect environment to learn swimming skills without the strain or stress of having to keep up with the pack.  Join us and let us help you learn to love the water.

New England Masters Swimming, originally founded in 1979, has grown from just a handful of small teams in the area to over 60 teams in the past 20 years. LASC’s Master Swim Club offers training programs for all levels of dedicated masters swimmers and triathletes. Members include individuals who use the program for fitness as well as training to compete at meets in New England and nationally. Masters swimmers range in age from 18 to over 90.  All of them have shared the same passion for swimming, friendship and competition. Laconia Athletic and Swim Club’s coached workouts are designed to improve a variety of stroke mechanics, speed, endurance and overall fitness.

  We have two convenient methods of payment for Masters.

1. An automatic Electronic Funds Transfer can be set up to bill you monthly.

2. $10 drop in fee for LASC members or $15 drop in fee for Non LASC members.

How old do I need to be to join?

18.   But all ages on up are welcome.

What if I am not in good shape?

It’s one of the main reasons so many join and stay in Masters.   It’s a great way to get in shape and stay in shape– and have fun doing it.  If you feel you’re not quite ready to do an hour workout try our Intro to Masters class first. This is a half hour workout focusing on technique and endurance.  See below for more details

I’m not fast. Will I be out of place?

Masters swimmers range in abilities and interests from lap swimmers and fitness swimmers to competitive minded swimmers and triathletes.  Regardless of your swimming ability and swimming interests, you will be with other swimmers who share your enjoyment of swimming.  Your coach will help you find the right speed lane to join of the five lanes used by masters.
